About Our Nepali Typing

A small, single-purpose tool for writing Nepali on any keyboard.

Why the site exists

Nepali speakers write in Nepali every day on hardware designed for English. Installing a Devanagari keyboard is the best long-term answer, but it is not always possible: shared computers, locked-down laptops, borrowed phones. This site covers that gap with a converter that needs nothing installed. See also the contact details .

What is on the site

A Romanized-to-Devanagari typing tool, an on-screen Nepali keyboard, timed typing practice, and conversion between the legacy Preeti font and Unicode. The pages around them explain the choices you have when typing Nepali, so the site is useful even when you do not need the tool that day.

How it is built

The site is a static web application. All transliteration, conversion and practice scoring run in the browser as ordinary JavaScript; there is no back-end that receives your text and no database of anything you type.

Data and attribution

Typing suggestions use filtered word-frequency and neighboring-word counts built from the Leipzig Corpora Collection Nepali web, news, and Wikipedia corpora, provided by Universität Leipzig. The site stores only aggregated counts in its static lexicon, never corpus sentences or text you type.

What the site does not do

No accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no advertising. There are no analytics scripts and no tracking pixels, so there is nothing to sell and no profile to build. Reviews, ratings and user statistics are not shown because none have been collected. See also the privacy note and the terms of use .
